Valley of flowers trek is among the most beautiful treks not just in the Uttarakhand region but in the whole country. With the stunning backdrop of Himalayan mountain ranges, the Valley of flowers is an unforgettable experience. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is an important part of Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve.
As the name suggests, in the valley of flowers, more than 600 species of exotic flowers bloom in abundance offering a breathtaking experience. And that’s is what makes this trek a once-a-lifetime experience.
Starting point
The trek starts from the village of Ghangharia. Right from the start of the trek, you are welcomed with the most amazing views of the valley. The entire trek passes through the lush green jungle, alongside the huge waterfalls. Initially, you need to trek from Pulna to Ghangharia, which is also quite a mesmerizing trail.
The entire trail is around 4 km and is a moderate-level trek. To enter Valley of Flowers, you require permission from the forest department, whose checkpoint is on the way of the trail. The best part of the valley of flowers trek is the numerous waterfalls and streams you come across on the entire trail.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit the Valley of flowers is during Monsoon because the entire valley offers the most amazing views. Although during monsoon, weather is quite unpredictable, and chances of landslides are frequent. So it’s advisable to book the trek through local operators as they are aware of weather and road conditions.
Difficulty level
It is a moderate level trek. Although it’s a 4 km trek, some patches are steep and there is a lot of uphill downhill walk. But go for it, because you will see the most beautiful views of your whole life.
