Kanatal is a small village and hill station in the Indian state of Uttarkhand. It is on Chamba Mussorie road and is around 300 km from Delhi. Not many travelers are exploring Kanatal and that is the reason, it is the best place for a staycation in Uttarkhand.

Property Review- Garhwal House Homestay
After spending long hours on Airbnb and Booking.com, we finally found this beautiful and budget homestay, for our week stay in Kanatal. During the peak snow seasons of Dec and Jan, Kanatal is a heaven and the entire property is covered with snow.
Just one week before our visit, Kanatal received heavy snowfall. During our visit, there was no snow but we got a nice view of the snow line right from our room.
The entire property is painted in a yellow theme which gives quite a unique look to the entire area. The property has a total of 3 floors, among which we decided to stay on the top floor. The Middle part is more of a garden and the lowest floor has a cafe, sitting area, and few rooms.
Work from home
They have the wifi installed, and apart from this, airtel and jio network is perfect in this area, so I guess workcation won’t be an issue from the Property.
About the Property
Since the property is huge and quite open, you receive sunlight till 4 or 5 pm in some or the other area, which is a good factor, especially during chilling winters. Even during our visit in February, although the snow was not there, the weather used to be cold in the evening and we had to wear caps and gloves.
The property is even before the main city of Kanatal and is right on a cliff, which is why instead of the sound of traffic, all we used to hear in the morning and evening is the chirping of birds. Also, since a huge forest area is there behind the property, it is breezy most of the time, and the weather is pleasant always.
Room
Our room had an attached washroom, with a geyser. Also, you will have a small wardrobe and a few chairs in the room. Right outside your room is a sitting arrangement where you can enjoy morning breakfast and afternoon lunch with the snow-covered mountain view.
Food
I won’t lie a single word, but I have eaten some of the best food at this place. Their cook is just amazing and they had good options on the menu as well.
Why Kanatal and not Dhanulti?
Dhanutli is a more famous destination compared to Kanatal, not many people you must have heard of visiting Kanatal. The main reason I preferred Kanatal over Dhanulti is the lesser crowd and equally beautiful views. Since this homestay was even before the main Kanatal city, it’s perfect for spending a quiet and peaceful time in the Mountains. The distance of the famous Eco Park Dhanulti is just 23 km
and can be easily explored on a day trip.
Don’t listen to what they, go and see it**
