It all started since last year when I took first trip to valley of flowers in Maharashtra with my friends. Since it was the first time joining some travel group ,I was not much confident if I will be able to adjust with group of people. Being an introvert,I wanted to get out of my comfort zone.So lets talk about what i learned about myself as a traveler.

Gokarna Beach
Paradise Beach

So travel is in all a great experience . It teaches you a lot.I have always been an introvert and my biggest fear was to meeting new people. And I am sure some of us face same fear .But meeting new people ,knowing their journey, what they are up to in their lives inspire us to step out of our cubicle life

Travelling to remote and offbeat places is something I really enjoy . My idea of vacation is not to sit in a expensive resort and enjoy the pool and drinks . And that’s what I guess makes you a true traveler when you are ready to travel with basic amenities also.

Asangaon

Why you travel so much??

So when my friends ask me why you travel so much or why I spend so much on it, I cant really explain it to them.Because they cant feel the magic of it by siting at home and listening to my explanation or stories. I haven’t been on solo trips yet but usually travel with travel groups and join in as solo.So which ever way I am managing my travel , I am doing it pretty well I guess. But we should break those barriers and step out and see how beautiful each and every place is there.

I have heard stories of people daring to leave their jobs and travel the world, we all want to do it . But haling from an descent not so rich family not every one of us can take that risk. But that doesn’t mean we cant travel with our jobs. Just sharing how I manage to do it

Kutch

My 9 to 5 job :I work as software Engineer Monday to Friday 9 to 5 but have always managed to travel along with this. I know it looks easy but it isn’t, when you trek for two days you get to rest from work and then get back to office after sleepless nights of trip . But still I could do that every weekend and never regret of sacrificing them because for me travelling is an investment. The return of it is cherished whole life in terms of experience and positive attitude I am filled with

Rann of Kutch

Decide your priority and save for next trip !!

Avoid weekend parties :Its pretty easy to manage the expenses for travelling along with paying for your rent and other necessities. One should know their priorities and problem is solved . I know my friends hate me for not joining them for parties and clubbing but I am clear of my priorities .I know money saved from so many such weekend parties could earn me an vacation.

Shopping a little less :Shopping is every girl’s dream but I have put it on halt since I started travelling because saving on expensive branded dresses could again earn me an awesome descent vacation. And that’s how I have managed to save on many such not so important expenses to present myself a vacation

Lonar Lake

Utilize weekends :I usually try to cover near by place on weekends ,usually leaving friday night and coming back by Monday morning. Most of the treks I completed have been done on weekends.

Prior book trips :For long leave plans its not easy to spend huge amount at one time so I always plan it 3 to 4 months prior . In such cases I prefer to pay the travel agency in installments every month and see the problem is solved. Only other thing to manage is flight tickets which also comes in descent price if booking few months prior.

Kaza

Efficiently plan 1 long trip annually and shorter on weekend:I always plan shorter trips once a month on weekend. Staying in Delhi let me explore lot of trek destination which are within 500 km ,on weekend. This way try to explore local near by destinations. Along with the weekend trips, once a year I plan long trip too .

Chandrataal

Choose weird off seasons to travel :Travelling in off season is an excellent way to score great deal on hotel prices and flight cost too.I traveled to Santorini , famous Island of Greece in November(off season). And got good deals on both hotel and flight. In addition to it,due to off-season,entire island was less crowded.

I hope these tips would help you to save vacation time and money.Lets explore!!!
