Homestays are a great way to explore any place, like a local. During most of my trips, I prefer always staying in a homestay. After weeks of online search, I found Hill Dew homestay in Uttarkashi, surrounded by the valley and just 500 m close to Bhagirathi and Assi Ganga Sangam. En route Uttarkashi from Rishikesh, you will see some of the most amazing views ever seen. And it takes around 5 hrs to reach by road.
In this article, I will review this property so let’s get started.

About Hill Dew Homestay

Hill dew homestay is located in the heart of the city of Uttarkashi, just 5 km from the main city, in the Gangori village. Away from the hustle-bustle of town life, you will experience a peaceful time in the lap of nature. Just 500m, from the Sangam of Assi Ganga and Bhagirathi river, it’s a great place for a relaxing vacation. You can take a complete tour of the homestay here.

The Host

The homestay is run by Akhil pant and his mother Meena Pant, who are residents of Gangori Uttarkashi ever since a long time. What I loved most about them, is they take out time to interact with us on daily basis. Akhil, as well as Aunty, were always available for everything needed. Akhil suggested us some nearby must-be-visited places such as Vimleshwar temple, Harsil, Khedi Waterfall, V top, and nearby villages.

Food

The most important thing which I would mention is the food. Aunty is a great cook, we always used to have a variety in Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Food used to be simple yet different, having a unique Garhwali taste. We tasted some unique chutneys prepared by Aunty herself, and vegetables that were in-house grown. We used to have all 3 times meals there and not a single day felt like eating from outside.

Ameneties

Rooms

We stayed in the top floor room, which had a unique wooden interior. The room was next to the terrace and we used to have a beautiful mountain view right from the window.

I am enjoying the warmth and the serenity of Hill Dew Homestay right now. The host Akhil, is very helpful and always just a call away. Those who plan to visit Uttarkashi you have a home away from home at Hill Dew Homestay. Don’t look anywhere else.
