Rue Cremieux is one of the prettiest streets in Paris, located in the 12th arr of Paris. It is one of the most instagrammable places in Europe. The street is full of pastel-colored houses and is around 10 km wide. The most interesting part of this street is its Parisian charm devoid of tourists.
The 35 identical houses that border the street look like English cottages. The residents are proud of their lane and have ensured that it’s well maintained. It was the resident’s initiative to paint their houses pastel colored purple, pink, green, blue, and yellow.
Where is Rue Cremieux located?
It is located between Rue de Lyon and Rue de Bercy. The street is just 450 m from the metro station Gare de Lyon, and it takes approx 6 mins to reach by walk.
History
In 1993, residents petitioned for their streets to be completely paved and pedestrianized and in return for their work being approved, the town hall asked residents to renovate the front of their houses. So all the owners got together and decided on different colors for their facades creating the rainbow street that we see today.
Don’t listen to what they, go and see it**
