Jaipur Forts -Amber, Jaigarh & Nahargarh |Timings, Entry Fee, and More

Jaipur is home to some of the amazing palaces and forts. The Jaipur forts are renowned in the whole world, among them are Amber, Nahargarh, and Jaigarh fort.

1. Amber Fort

Month of Travel – Jan 2021

Timings– 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Time Required– 3 to 4 hours

Entrance Fee– 25 Rs for Indian
200 Rs for Foreign Nationals
1100Rs – Elephant Ride

The fort overlooks Maotha Lake in the town of Amer, which used to serve as the capital of Jaipur’s princely state. You can avail elephant ride up to the stairs to the Amer Fort, which is a popular tourist activity. The Amer fort was inducted into UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE as part of Hillforts of Rajasthan, along with five other forts.

2. Jaigarh Fort

Month of Travel – Jan 2021

Timings– 9:30 AM to 4:45 PM

Time Required– 2 to 3 hours

Entrance Fee– 35 Rs for Indian
85 Rs for Foreign Nationals

Jaigarh fort is built on the top of ‘Cheel ka teela’ hill in the pink city of Jaipur. It was constructed as a defense fort to the Amber Fort and is also connected to it through a tunnel. Jaigarh is famously known as the Fort of Victory as it was never conquered. Fort currently houses the world’s largest cannon on wheels – ‘Jaivana’.

3. Nahargarh Fort

Month of Travel – Jan 2021

Timings– 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Time Required– 2 to 3 hours

Entrance Fee– 20 Rs for Indian
50 Rs for Foreign Nationals

Nahargarh fort was built by Maharaja Sawai Raja Singh || in the year 1734 as a retreat. It was primarily used as a retreat for the ladies of the royal household and has a ladies quarter by the name ‘Zenana’ or the Madhavendra Bhawan The interesting part of these quarters is, it has 12 identical suites built for 12 queens, designed in such a way that if King visits any one queen, others won’t come to know about it.
