Have you always wanted to visit Hobbiton? This place has been on my bucket list since the day, I watched LOTR(Lord of the rings). Whether you a Lord of the ring fan or not, you will definitely become a fan of this unique village- Hobbiton, found nowhere else.
What makes Hobbiton Unique?
One of the most successful movie saga, Lord Of The Rings was shot in New Zealand. The village of Hobbiton was built especially for the movie. After shooting finished, it was decided to leave the village as it is and keep it open for tourists.
When Peter Jackson was looking for potential movie sets, he spotted this 12-acre family-run sheep farm during his aerial search. Read more about Pre-film set history here. The lush green hills and hobbit holes all over the place will make you feel like walking into the Middle earth(LOTR fans can relate to this term).
It is home to Dragon Inn, The mill, and dozens of picturesque hobbit holes
How to get there?
As I researched, the site is open for guided tours which need to be booked way in advance. 2 hr guided tour allows the visitor to explore the party area, bilbo’s Bag End home, all LOTR fans can relate to the excitement of name Bilbo. I came across this Hobbiton tours website which offers various experiences related to Hobbiton movie sets.
Some more attractions include The Shire Rest Cafe,

So whether you have watched LOTR or not, the beauty and uniqueness of this village will definitely mesmerize you. I haven’t come across any such place anywhere else in any country. Hoping to travel there soon and kicking of Hobbiton, off my bucket list.
