Where is Fagu?
Fagu is a serene hill station located at a 45 mins drive from Shimla. It is famous for apple orchards and snow-covered ranges in the backdrop. If you are looking for a peaceful vacation, away from the crowded streets, Fagu is a perfect choice. It is said that Fagu has derived its name from ‘Fog’, as it is covered in fog for almost a year.
How to reach Fagu?
Delhi to Fagu is around 350 km and can be easily covered through self-drive since the roads are in perfect condition. Alternatively, you can opt for a bus from Delhi to Shimla. From Shimla, you can hire a taxi upto Fagu.

Rooms
After a lot of research, I found this amazing place – Anubhav Homestay. We found this place through Airbnb. The property is located away from the main town and that is why you will experience a peaceful environment.
The view from the room is quite great as you get 360 valley view right from your room.
There are a total of 2 floors in the homestay, although our room was on the first floor, the views were still great. During monsoon and peak snowfall, views would be even more breathtaking due to valley-facing rooms.
Food
No kitchen is attached to the suite, but they have a shared kitchen for occasional cooking or making tea or coffee. We ordered all 3 meals from their café itself. No doubt, the food was quite tasty, but it was for sure not within the budget. So this is one of the cons I felt, especially for budget travelers. Apart from that, the service, the views, and the location were all perfect.
What to do Nearby
To visit some tourist spots, you have to drive up to Chamba or Shimla, because there is not much to explore in Fagu itself. I would say it is more of enjoying your stay in mountains, kind of place.
What to visit within 150 km
If you are visiting Fagu, it’s my recommendation to extend your stay and travel to Kinnaur Valley. Fagu to Sarahan is around 142 km, which is the gateway to Kinnaur. You can check out the entire route and complete Kinnaur travel itinerary on my YouTube channel.
